さて、僕は現在、こちらの本でバラの勉強をしています。
鈴木満男氏監修の『決定版 美しく咲かせる バラ栽培の教科書』という本です。
本日は2日目ということで、バラの種類について学びました。(p.18-21)
バラには系統というものがあり、野生種と園芸品種という2種類に大きく分けられるのですね。
野生種・・・人工的な交配のされていないバラ。世界中に100〜150種あると言われている
園芸品種・・・人の手が加わって誕生した品種。本格的に作出が始まったのは19世紀。
そして、園芸品種はさらに２つの系統に分けられます。それがオールドローズとモダンローズ。
1867年にフランスで作られた品種『ラ フランス』が誕生した年代を境に、その前から存在していた系統をオールドローズ、『ラ フランス』以降に作られた品種をモダンローズと区別している。
オールドローズの系統にはさらに細かく、ガリカローズ、ダマスクローズ、ポートランドローズ、アルバローズ、チャイナローズ、ティーローズ、ブルボンローズ、ハイブリッドパーペチュアルローズ、ノワゼットローズなどがある。
モダンローズの系統には、ハイブリッドティーローズ、フロリバンダローズ、シュラブローズ（モダンシュラブ）、イングリッシュローズ、ミニチュアローズ、グランディフローラローズ、ポリアンサローズ、ラージフラワードローズなどがある。
うーん、用語が多くて大変ですね(^◇^;)
でも試験勉強じゃないので、なんとなーく、そんなのもあったなぁぐらいでいいですよね。さらっと飛ばしましょ（笑）

園芸品種・・・人の手が加えられた品種。『ラ フランス』という品種以前のものをオールドローズ、それ以降をモダンローズと呼ぶ。
